NBM Lab Foundational Certificate graduate Jeff Thompson has brought Narrative-Based Medicine into outer space with NASA’s Awe (Advancing Wellness in Space Exploration) Project, which explores the role of story and reflection in space health. One of the videos in the collection features NBM Lab Creative Lead, Damian Tarnopolsky, who joins Jeff to explore how narrative practices can support the psychological resilience, communication, and team cohesion of astronaut crews preparing for deep-space missions.

This collaboration showcases how our NBM Lab programs continue to shape innovative, human-centered work far beyond traditional clinical settings and into the extreme environments of analog space missions.
