Poetry and Practice: Recent Work from Lori-Anne Noyahr

Lori-Anne Noyahr is an anesthesiologist in Toronto, and an accomplished poet whose work touches on themes of medicine, family, and community. Lori-Anne frequently publishes poetry in both health humanities and literary journals, and her work has recently appeared in venues including:

Her poem “Through the Glass” won the City of Orillia’s K. Valerie Connor Prize (third place), and she was awarded the P. K. Page Mentorship from the League of Canadian Poets. She is at work on her first book, Unpacking, under the mentorship of Hari Alluri.

Bringing together her creative talents and interest in narrative-based medicine, Lori-Anne presented her poetry and discussed ideas in the health humanities during the “Cross Pollinations” lecture series in fall 2025, a collaboration between the League of Canadian Poets and the Health Arts Research Centre.
