NBM Lab Receives Colin Woolf Award for Programming Excellence

The Narrative-Based Medicine Lab is the proud recipient of the 2026 Colin Woolf Award for Excellence in Program Development and Coordination, which recognizes continuing professional development (CPD) programs that demonstrate rigorous needs assessment, meaningful learner engagement, and measurable impact.

The NBM Lab brings learning to life with programming informed by longitudinal, evidence-based educational design. Programming is also shaped by direct learner feedback that prioritizes reflective writing, small group dialogue, and structured mentorship. Through the study and practice of narrative inquiry, the lab empowers the development of skills essential to healthcare practice such as listening deeply, receiving stories with care, grappling with uncertainly, and understanding the human experience with every program offered.

At the lab, we’re honoured to receive this award and share it with everyone who has supported the continuous development and innovation of programming.
