Linda Raphael PhD

Linda Raphael is Director of the Yolanda and James Oertel Program in Medicine and Humanities and Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioural Sciences at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She received her BS in Education majoring in English and MA in American History at Ohio State University, and PhD in English at Ohio State University/Brown University. She completed post-doctoral studies in Moral Philosophy and Literature at Oxford University.

Her teaching dossier includes clerkship narrative medicine sessions (obstetrics/gynecology, psychiatry, primary care, medicine, surgery, pediatric, neurology), reading and discussion sessions with obs/gyn faculty, and reading sessions with residency program directors. She is also the author of numerous books, articles, and essays.
