Expand your imagination and transform your practice this fall

We are excited to announce programming for our fall 2023 season. Responding to learner interest we are once again offering two popular multi-session series, as well as introducing a new workshop. At the NBM Lab we are always developing new offerings that introduce learners to new applications of Narrative-Based Medicine in our different focus areas. Read on for a sample of what our offerings will span this fall.

Experience the transformative effects of narrative-based clinical practice in the Foundational Certificate in Narrative-Based Medicine. Discover how working with stories can positively impact patient care and clinician fulfillment. In 2023-24 we will offer 3 different program start dates in October 2023, January 2024, and March 2024 — offering greater flexibility for learners to join us on days and times that work well with their schedule.

Enhance your reflective capacity, narrative competence, and resiliency in professional practice in our popular Narrative Approaches to Resilience in Practice series. Learn how to improve the quality, and experience, of relationship-centered care for patients through collaborative use of story over the course of 4 online sessions starting October 24, 2023.

Our other multi-session series this fall will provide space for learners contemplate themes and questions within the health humanities through different literary genres and writing activities. Creative and Reflective Writing for Health Practitioners starts October 26, 2023. Try out new prose and poetry techniques, and receive tangible feedback on your writing.

Later in the season, a new workshop will allow you to develop the skills and confidence as a workshop facilitator. Facilitate a Writing Workshop in Your Healthcare Community with Poet Ronna Bloom is an intensive, two-part online training that will start November 4, 2023. Using poetry as a portal for reflective writing and community building, learn the foundations of effective facilitation in a writing context and then practice leading a workshop of your own.

We have more planned for fall! Explore our current offerings page as new offerings, events, and activities are announced.
