Leighton Schreyer will study for a DPhil in Anthropology, specializing in Medical Anthropology, at the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. Leighton, who is an MD student in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine and graduate of the NBM Lab’s Foundational Certificate in Narrative-Based Medicine, will continue their exploration of narrative medicine while in Oxford.
From the U of T News story:
“They credit U of T’s health, arts and humanities program with formally introducing them to the field.
‘My story – the narrative of my life – is far from complete and, in many ways, I hope it never will be; I want to be continuously challenged to rethink, rework and refine my story,’ Schreyer says.”
On behalf of all of us at the NBM Lab, we offer our heartiest congratulations, Leighton! We look forward to following your work. Read the full announcement in this story from U of T News.
